On the birthday thread for Don Berger, he wrote,
"I have been following the lead of a Britisher ... named Winston C."
Jack Kissinger wrote,
>>More likely a Britisher named Severus S., methinks.
Hmmm. Since Severus Snape used to teach Potions, he could brew up a Squeakless Reed dip, couldn't he? And as a master of Defense Against the Dark Arts, no doubt he'd know how to counter the Usus Confusus hex, aka Quartetto Confundio. That's the one that makes the musicians show up at the right time on the wrong day, or the right day at the wrong time.

Let's face it, if Snape brewed a reed dip it would taste revolting and you'd never be able to play it!

You're probably right that it would taste revolting, but I'll bet anything Snape brewed up would work--for the person in possession of a spell to banish the flavor! If that Hogwarts stuff did get loose in the world of Muggle music, just imagine the possibilities for cheating at music competitions by way of the Polyjuice Potion....
Don, you might want to read the Harry Potter books--they're not just for kids. (I learned about them from my dad, then about 80, who recommended them shortly after the second one was published in the USA. He found out about them from my nephew, Dad's grandson.)
