To Clarinetists all over the World:
I am writing to introduce myself and promote a new Clarinet Concerto by Brazilian composer Daniel Wolff. Dr. Wolff was a 1999 Grammy Award nominee and is very well-known in his native Brazil. I recently commissioned the Clarinet Concerto from him, and performed the World Premiere on April 9, 2000 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The CD of this work is due to be released commercially in October of this year. The work received a standing ovation from the 550 people in attendance at the premiere. I believe that this work
will become very beloved by general music audiences. It is very Brazilian--full of optimism and catchy "baiao" rhythms. The feedback I have received thus far is very positive. I anticipate performing the New York premiere at Merkin Concert Hall on March 12, 2001 with the North/South Consonance under the baton of Max Lifchitz. In the
meantime, I am actively promoting this work. Please do me the honor of going to my website at: http://www.mp3.com/GaryDranch (0r) GaryDranch.musicpage.com
where you will be able to "stream" the live-recording of the World Premiere in mp3 format. If you are interested in this work, please contact me, as I would love to perform this work for interested audiences. Regards, Dr.Gary Dranch

I'm going to let this one go - normally I don't like any "commercials" here, but in the case of new music (and the opportunity to hear some of it) I'll make a minor exception.

Thanks for leaving this on, Mark. It is delightful music and sounds satisfying to play. It is worth a listen.
