Their web site has been responding only with an error message for several days:
http://www.wwbw.com/
Does anyone have information about why?

Most curious. I can connect from my PC and from my laptop using Internet Explorer but not with Firefox (even with all Add-Ons disabled).
On the other hand, I can connect with from my wife's PC with Firefox.
All three are running the latest Firefox (2.0.0.4) under WinXP with all current updates and all connect to the Internet via the same router.
I'm stumped -- even though I can deal with it.

I think it's just flakiness. I had trouble yesterday, but then it connected. It loaded just now too.

I was wondering if any one knows what is going on with the company. I heard that the guitar center was going to take over, but is it okay to order and return to them now? I need to order some mouthpieces, and I need to make sure that I can return them.
Thanks,
Katie

I've been ordering and receiving goods from them both before and after the Guitar Center buyout. I've been careful to order only items that were in stock (their site seems to be pretty good about specifying items they have), and I've received everything without problems - including some excellent deals on some inventory they were clearing out.
In more recent weeks, the number of items they have in stock has increased dramatically. Seems to me that they are back on solid ground. . .

works fine.
Our inventions are wont to be pretty toys, which distract our attention from serious things. they are but improved means to an unimproved end, an end which was already but too easy to arrive as railroads lead to Boston to New York

Suggest you start to use other suppliers when you have problems. I recently tried Prowinds in Bloomington, Indiana. Prices were all better than WWBW by several dollars (reeds $17.95 versus $19.95). Order $99 and get free shipping. I bought sax stand (which WWBW didn't carry), new ligature (which WWBW didn't have in stock) and some reeds. Saved money and had stuff in 3 days.
The days of WWBW being my suppler of choice are over.
Now to answer Alan's question, I've had no problem accessing site.

I have no problems getting on the site and I had a small order that was shipped promptly.

For those of you who are curious, we have been working hard over the past few months to get our inventory back on par and you should find most of the standard purhcase items are back in stock.
Guitar Center has recently announced that it is going private and will be purchased by Bain Capital. We have been told that this will have no affect on the way way that we do business (accept to hopefully make it better) and that all of our management will remain in place. As this purchase was instigated by Guitar Center in an effort to take the compnay private, I don't see anything changing going forward.
As always, don't hesitate to contact me with questions.
