 Hi all,

I've been around these forums for a couple months, but I haven't created an account until recently.

In a couple of weeks, I'm scheduled to get my wisdom teeth out. After I have recovered, I plan on spending some time doing double lip long tones, but I really don't know of any other good ways to get my endurance back. Do any of you know of any other exercises I can use to build up my endurance? Thanks.

 Aaron

If your endurance is good now, it may not be an issue at all. I had three oral surgeries in June (two under general anaesthesia), and the last one was 12 days ago so I have been unable to practise, but this evening I played alto sax (takes more wind than a clarinet) with a swing band for 2 1/2 hours and didn't have any problems.

It's been a while, so I'll post this again. Some years ago, a local jazz sax player had four wisdom teeth extracted in the morning, and played a three hour gig that same evening. However, he may have been under the influence of some "unique" pain medication.................
