Is there anyone out there that can recommend a reputable clarinet repair in the Southwestern Ontario Region - we are not too happy with what is available in our area and are looking to go elsewhere in our area. We have a boosey Hawkes - wooden approx 50 yrs old in fine condition but could use an overhaul and pad work. Thanks.

Ally:
If you're willing to drive to Toronto, Gary Armstrong Woodwinds (720 Bathurst St. Ste 503) does a really good job--I had my instrument overhauled a couple of years ago there, and at least two repairs, as well as knowing a number of clarinetists in the GTA who also have their instruments repaired there. Phone: (416) 535-6000.

You can get a Boosey & Hawkes for less than 100 dollars. Why should you spend approx. 200.00 dollars or even more for such an inferior instrument
