Nows the time to put those old Pan Ams to work. Simply shove them into the ground, mouthpiece first and you have a really good launch tube for your bottle and sky rockets. The wide bell makes an easy guide to drop into in poor visibility (night time) or if you've over comsumed. Happy Fourth!

DLE,
Even in the UK, you must have heard that the USA celebrates on the 4th of July!
If you Americans shout loud enough, we Europeans might just hear you!

Judging by all the fireworks going off everywhere around here it's a wonder you don't hear them around the world!
DLE, we celebrate the 4th of July as a day of independence from rule of England and Europe. Our Declaration of Independence was orginally signed on July 4, 1776. I know tons of information is available on the internet.
Have a great day all and be careful if you're shooting your own fireworks!

We play a three hour concert tonight. Point your best ear to the west and I'll play my contra a tad louder for you unless the bari sax is there. All he knows is ffff (jazz man). Ahh, music, alcohol (Harp), and exposives,,,,,,,all in one night. I'll be a wreck tomorrow.

Some "Day Off" for me--I've got to play a two and one-half hour symphony concert in about three hours, if it doesn't rain. Maybe I'll join the fun at the end and shoot a couple of bottle rockets out of my Concerto--don't have a Pan Am launcher. Anyway, to the rest of you that knows what the Fourth of July means, have a GREAT ONE!!!!!!! ((and back to those practice rooms tommorrow :>} }}

For some of us, the holiday has already passed; for us Canadians, that was on Saturday, but many people got Monday off.

Wait! I didn't mean that I didn't know what the 4th of July was! I simply was confused by the use of Willie's language in his first post. Something about a launcher......

He was making fun of a certain type of clarinet that is obviously not his favorite!

Imagine using your clarinet as a mortar launcher. Get the picture?
