Check out the article by Robert Spring (I think it's on the Online Clarinet Resource, which is also on sneezy) about this topic. His suggestions seem logical, and judging from his playing, they must work! I haven't tried circular breathing yet--I want to fix some other things first--but I hear that it's easier to start by doing it on a trill, then on moving passages. The hardest thing to do is circular breathe on a single note--the pitch wavers too much. Anyway, if you can find that article, it should point you in the right direction.
On a related topic, a lot of teachers have warned me that if I do learn how to do it, don't make it the sole feature of my playing. It's a tool, but that's all it is, just like anything else in your playing. As well, even if you can circular breathe as long as you want, remember that the audience actually subconsciously waits for you to breathe before they do; if you don't, they'll feel uncomfortable without knowing why. I've had it happen to me! It's a most peculiar feeling. So have fun, but remember that it's not crucial.

My son figured out how to do it pretty quickly - he said it wasn't too hard as long as you didn't think about it. Once you start, it becomes pretty easy - he said. I can't do it.
He also refers to it as a "cheap circus trick - that once in a great while comes in handy".

Practice first through a straw into a glass of water.
Let the cheeks out to collect air, push air through the straw with cheeks while inhailing through nose. When this is easy try doing it without letting cheeks out so much. With very highly developed air compression it becomes easier to store air in the mouth without having to let cheeks out. As for Kenny's record, what record,I consider it publicity stunt,it's easy, I can much longer, but whats the point!! When I first learned it I tested on a quiet trill and got sick of it after about 30 min.
