I remember hearing something about Charles Bay making machine similar in concept to a reedual. And something about it using diamond cutters instead of sandpaper...
Anyone know anything about this? Is it out?

Charlie had a prototype at the Oklahoma Clarinet Symposium a couple years ago - it had an electric motor and seemed to be operational. I do not know if he has put it into production but his estimate on price for the motorized version was in the 4 figures at the time. He may have made modifications, made it manual, and dropped the projected selling price but you should contact him for more information.

From what I've seen, it's a fancier (and MUCH higher priced) ReeDual.
Also, good luck getting in touch with Charles Bay. A lot of people have tried, but he seems to pop out of the woodwork for the ClarinetFest and then disappear again.

Thanks Ken,
Yes I tried to email him a while back...but it got returned, and I've no clue how to contact him.
Do you know if this thing is for sale? and how much?
I'm happy with my dual but I would consider paying for this f it was more accurate and less fuss(diamond cutters vs sandpaper etc).
Best,
Chris
