I just came across a clarinet that my son had 15 years ago in High School. He got it thru a contact of the band director, and we don't know who makes the instrument. It has a fairly good size "V" (without the exclamation marks) on the bell. Anyone recognize that? Just trying to figure out who made the horn. (I'm an oboist and don't know too much about clarinets.) Thanks

Yes, likely Vito, student model by Leblanc. I've seen a number of Vitos, with differing logos on them, some without anything. Fair, inexpensive. Don

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I guessed it might be Vito, but when I went online to look, I couldn't find anything that looked just like it. Anyway, I'll bet that's it. Thanks again...

I agree with SusieRay. It has to be an original version of the student line Vito-40 clarinet
The new current line of Vito clarinets have gotten a "facelift" and the current version of the Vito-40 no longer has the big "V" on the clarinet bell.
The Vito-40 is generally thought of as being one of the best in student level instruments.

You didn't see another V40 online because they are so keepable. If you play one you only consider selling it when you need money for an oxygen tank.
