I recently came across one of these and did a search, both here and on google, and it seems a bit of a mystery. There is very little - read "none" - info out there.
Does anybody here know what the "F" stands for?

ISTR that the case options are different for different Submodels (eg YCL-250 vs. -250CA).

Thanks Chris - that one didn't come up for me when i searched. It seems all the hits are not in English - maybe it's an Asia only model.
I had wondered whether it was a pitch thing, such as the "f" Buffet use in their serial no's for A=442.

Hello all,
Does anyone have any further updates / info on this model? It seems I'll be looking at one in the next few weeks.
The seller says his girlfirend bought the 650F in Japan about 5 years ago and that it's the "old model number, replaced now by YCL650 but same features".
Apparently it has silver-plated keys.
Says it retails in Japan for 194,250 Yen or US$1,689 (however on the link above from Chris P. I see the price is ca. 189K - but this is a Japanese site, no? I can't read anything else, so can't determine if these are new prices or what???)
Nothing else on google, which is kind of strange. C'mon you Yamaha gurus, I thought you knew everything about this sort of thing??? :-D

When Yamaha appends an N, it indicates Nickel plating, and H indicates Hamilton plating. If the F is for Ferrous, keep some WD-40 next to your bore and key oils.
