I just bought a recording of Gordon Jacob's Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet. I instantly fell in love with this piece and can't figure out why it isn't played more often. I've been on the hunt for the sheet music and....surprise, surprise........I can't find it ANYWHERE. Does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks,
Jay

I agree, what a wonderful, tuneful piece. It's a real pleasure to play, and the string parts are well written and interesting, so no complaints from those with the bows. It's published by Novello. Look at the Gordon Jacob website, this reference to the work:
http://www.gordonjacob.com/w_clarinet_quintet.html
The one place I see it listed available is at June Emerson's online store (UK), at:

Well worth the effort to acquire this piece!

As far as I know this composition is not printed but I got an authorized copy (about 10 years ago ) from: Novello&Company, Limited, London.

If your a member of the ICA(which I recommend if your not), the research center has this in its lending library. I have just sent this back and should be available by the 14th of May.
