Hi All,
I'm curious if the Festival is still available. Buffet's site still includes them in the line-up, but none of the Online retailers site's list them. Are they still keeping this model as an exclusive (as Brenda Siewert mentioned in a post some time ago) or are they discontinued?
Much thanks,
Chris

I know they are available here in Sweden at least... The Festival is very popular here, and is played by many of the Swedish clarinetists.

This model is not allowed to be marketed on websites or in catalogs in the USA. It was part of the marketing plan of the instrument. Essentially, you get a prestige-type instrument for almost the same price as an R13 with silver keys. They are still in production (I had a student buy one 3 weeks ago) but you will have to phone retailers to inquire about them. If you can't find them, perhaps you could have a retailer set up an appointment at the factory for you. Hope this helps.

Anaheim Band (www.abimusic.com) in California stocks a bunch of Buffet Festivals. You can't buy them online of course, but when you visit the store they have over half a dozen...check them out!
I've played a few of them there while looking for instruments for my students and they're excellent (though I'm fairly attached to my older R13.

In the UK the Festival is the same price as the Prestige (R13 and RC) and Vintage - typical rip-off Britain. It used to be priced somewhere in between the DG and Prestige.

"typical rip-off Britain"
Last time I checked all Buffet clarinets were less expensive in the UK than in the USA (excluding UK VAT and US sales tax, but I think even with tax still less in the UK).
