hey guys, is there any one how can give me a step-by-step lesson on how to gliss???? i asked my teacher but we got side-tracked and im not seeing him 4 a while, erm yeah, i can kinda to G-C (above the throat notes) but i need to be able to go from D etc, in the end i need to be able to gliss up2 top Ab!!!! aargh!! but baby steps!....

This gliss sounds similar to the one in Artie Shaw's Concerto, except that one goes to high G instead of Ab. I would suggest reading threads like this one (search for 'artie shaw concerto gliss'): http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=238213&t=238213
The Concerto was my first encounter with glisses like these, but using the same approach Jack Kissinger suggests in that thread, I was able to do the gliss pretty easily: "try switching from C (RT ooo ooo) to a long C (e.g., RT oxx|xxxG#) and then go on up."
