Hey, I know there is someone out there who can tell me about Casal wood clarinet. Every piece marked Casal Paris. Nice leather case. I need to replace pads and cork before I know what it sounds like. Extremely low Double digit serial number. Thanks for any input.

The only relationship I can think of would be to Pablo CasalS, born in Spain, but was the principal cellist in the Paris Opera Orchestra for a number of years, quite famous. He died in 1973. So, I tend to believe that your cl has a "stencilled" name, that, is made by an unknown maker and given a Good French name for [likely] sale in the US. Others, please help. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Hmmmm...
Could it be...
... a ...
Malerne?
(If in doubt, say Malerne!)

Well, it is stamped Casals Paris on every piece, including bell and barrel. On the bottom side of one fo the keys is etched "Aug.'65", however, I don't know if this is date of manufacture or date of replating. It looks like it's been silver plated. Serial number on both upper and lower joints is 40.
