 Cavallini, Horovitz, Nielsen

I've got my final year recital coming up at uni and I have to submit programme notes. The problem is I can't find much information about any of the pieces that I'm performing! I'm playing Cavallini 'Adagio e tarantella', Horovitz 'Sonatina', and Nielsen 'Fantasy'.
Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks

my dear mssssssss clare

first, a subject similar to yours came up awhile ago.

Part of the preparation of a peice/recital is the performer doing the research

you couldn't find any information yadayadayada..............

hmmmmmmmm, ,I selected one of your pieces, plugged it into yahoo and found numerous hits.

This is just a simple example of research.

I WILL NOT DO ANYMORE

If you are in college, a great place to start is Groves - at the least you get a biography on the composer and additional references. I don't know of one college music dept. library that doesn't have a set. Also, check your school's library computers to see if they subscribe to Groves Online. If not, all educational centers get a free months trial and I would inform the library of this fact. Unfortunately, individuals canot get free trials, but can subscribe yearly - the price is steep though.

I have good notes on the horovitz from a diploma I did a while ago which got top marks - email me and you can have them if you like?? why not eh? as long as you understand the music why write a book on it?

Thanks for the replies.
I've tried Grove and similar resources and the information is very limited, but thanks for suggesting it.
I've googled them all before and similar; I know how to do research as it is a large part of my music degree, I asked on here as I thought someone might know something that I had missed in my research. I wasn't being lazy and I'm sorry if you thought that!
And thanks Gobboboy, that would be great! I don't know how to access your email though, but I think mine is on my profile...? Sorry!
