Hi everyone, recently i've changed from my Yamaha 4C to a new Vandoren B45 profile 88. I've played the clarinet for about 4 years.
Will my tone change for the better with B45 after getting seasoned with it?

Has your tone changed significantly since you started using the new mpc? How long have you been using it and how many reeds have you tried? After an initial introduction period your tone should stabilize but whether it "improves" or not is pretty subjective – after you feel comfortable with the new mpc your tone should reflect your confidence and your playing as a whole will improve.

When I was playing for 4 years, I didn't have the best tone that I ever had, so I'd say good chance your tone will continue to improve regardless of the mouthpiece. If the new mouthpiece is better, and is more comfortable for you (and I assume it is since you bought it) it will help your tone also.

I played a Yamaha 4C a while ago and the other day I took it out to see what it sounded like and compared it with my c85 and I sound the same but different. You will still sound like you but a more refined you. It's like a 200W stereo and a 400W stereo sound the same but the 400W has more intensity and fullness to it.

having recently switched over to a new mouthpiece a few months ago, I can tell you that, in my experience, upgrading the mouthpiece will initially improve your tone quite a bit (that is, if you get the right one!). After I've become used to the mouthpiece, I've still improved my tone a fair amount since I first started. It all comes down to yourself as a player. Plenty of students play on all sorts of things such as advanced wooden bells, but I've heard my friends produce a much better sound than these people countless times, and they play on a regular R-13 with a B45. I digress, though
Point is, you always have room to advance. That is the never ending quest for tone!
