I am looking for a clarinet teacher who resides in Paris and speaks fluent English (my French is terrible).
If anybody knows somebody like that or knows an organization that provides such lists, etc. Please respond.
I am an adult beginner.
Thanks.

Incidentally, I should note that I am interested in Jazz clarinet, though I imagine the fundamental lessons are the same.

If you are a beginner, the fundamentals are the same. First, you have to learn how to make long tones that stay in tune. You have to learn fingerings and fingering strategies. You have to learn how to count and feel for rhythm. Wow, there are a whole bunch of fundamentals to learn, even just to start asking questions.
If you are interested in catching a quick glimpse of jazz in relation to fundamental knowledge, click over to the Study section and open up the page for Scales. Try one or two of the Scales files out and look at the fingering pages in detail. You will find the modes of the scales there, which is one of the starting points for jazz. This is but one example of learning the fundamentals first before you explore the complexities of jazz.
Most of all, whatever you do, have fun. That's what music is all about, no matter what the style.
