okay, who has actually forgotten which instrument they were playing on? Anyway, you always know it's the other one you need to pick up.
Maybe if you're playing the Eb solo, and the Bb and A are both on the stands...

i'm more likely to miss the 'muta in Do/C' or whatever note in the music, causing ones ears to object a few measures later

Joannew, you just gotta go read the threads those folks put on the Doublers BB. Some of them are sitting in a dark pit, covering two different books, and trying to keep 5 or 6 instruments sorted out. I would imagine that they would have trouble remembering which pieces of tape designates which instrument. Eu
