Does anybody know a tremolo fingering for Bb4 to D5? The only two Bb's that I know make it physically impossible to do this and I know no alternate D's. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you mean Bb to altissimo D then you could finger the D as an overblown open G.
Bb4 to D5 implies that you are talking about throat tone Bb to clarion D, and in this case you cover the Bb with as many fingers as possible and trill the rest of them.

(or switch to your A clarinet and tem B to Eb)
Actually, the trad Bb fingering to D is trickey but doable if you play the Bb as: TA 0XX/XXX Just got to be smooth and quick.
Also, be sure that you are not trying to play too fast--a tremolo is NOT a trill. One trem bar = 8th notes, two trem bars = 16th notes, etc. Even if the trem is marked with three bars meaning 32nd notes, you can probably "get bye" with playing 16ths instead.

Thanks for all the replies! I guess there is no way to make it easier (and yes, they are 32nd notes) . I guess I'll just have to practice it. Thanks again!

Fanana37, what piece are you playing? This came up last week in our band rehearsal. I forgot the name of the piece. The tremolo from Bb to D is in the 3rd clarinet part. We haven't yet found a secure way to do this. If we do, I will post what we found out.

Like other people have said, keep your right hand fingers down from Bb to D. I do that on alot of things. It's the only way to do it. I can not stand when people do tremolos or trills or any sort of movement from Bb to Long Cs, Ds, or Bs and have to play the notes with the BASIC fingering. It is not smooth sounding and eventually gets off beat.
