i play a lot of piano music--the top line. The question is what do i do about a Cb? Do i just play C and move on or should I do something else?

A Cb is enharmonic with B - play the B, not the C. Unless I'm totally misunderstanding you.

Cb is the enharmonic equivalent of B natural so you should play a B natural.

Of course if you play piano music *with* a piano, one of you is going to need to transpose so that the piano and clarinet will be in compatible keys. See my reply further down where you asked about the difference between concert C major and C major.

Fb = E
E# = F
B# = C

Thank you very much. So if it is a flat I go down a half a note and if sharp I go up a half.
