I notice that my older clarinet's nickel plated keys are actually peeling off.... I'm for real guys its not tarnishing.... ITs peeling off...like you can see 2 layers. Is it safe to replate a insturment? How much would the cost be and would it hurt my sound any?

yes they can be replated.

to do this the keys and posts have to be removed, and the key cork and pads removed (and later replaced).

the cost of removing the keys and replacing the pads and cork is more than the add on for replating.

i suggest you contact butler instrument restoration

the work is magnificient.
