I attended Michael Brecker's memorial at Town Hall in NYC last night. It was truly a moving evening with heartfelt performances by his brother Randy,
Jeff 'Tain' Watts, Dave Liebman, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJonette and Paul Simon.
There was also a video tribute from James Taylor. Everyone spoke eloquently including Michael's wife Susan and son Sam. They remembered a kind gentle soul whose awesome ability and humble attitude shaped the whole jazz world, and was taken much to soon.
Michael left a great legacy for us all through his actions and his music.
I will miss him.
Steve

Thank you for the report.
I had the pleasure of playing with Mike in his quindectet a couple of years ago at the copenhagen jazzfestival.
He was an amazing musician and such a kind and gentle person.
RIP
