I found this old post that states that the 5RV and 2RV are the samemouthpiece
http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=13006&t=13006
...yet the description at WWBW for the 2RV reads:
"More open and flexible than the 5RV, the Vandoren 2RV Bb clarinet mouthpiece is a favorite among studio players. Free blowing and reed friendly, the Vandoren 2RV makes it easy to switch from clarinet to saxophone and back again with ease."
Which one is correct?
I was thinking of getting a 5RV, and the 2RV is actually cheaper at the moment.
On another note, does anybody have any experience with the 11.6? I'm somewhat curious about it as well.

From the Vandoren web site, under FAQ:
"...What is the difference between the 2RV and the 5RV mouthpiece?
The 2RV and the 5RV are identical. When the item number was changed, it created some confusion, so the older item number was reinstated. Both are available...."

Hmmm... I always thought WWBW used "stock" descriptions for items... I guess not. It's just another example of how meaningless mouthpiece descriptions usually are I suppose.

I wish I could say that I get a chance to play on everything that I sell but I do unfortunately rely on online sources from time to time when writing copy. The 2RV description information I got from an old Vandoren comparison chart. My apologies for the errors. I'll get the description changed as soon as I can.

It's nice to see that Scott reads the BB. His quick response is admirable, IMO.
I wish more companies did that, and responded to questions about their products and services so promptly.

What a great question, it is my understanding that they are they same. Though for posterity sake I prefer the older 2RV's. As a side note when you find a good one hold on to it.
Study, Practice, Play and Enjoy.
