The music store I shop at is out of my strength--3.5 Trads--of reed and has only a few boxes of the others. It is a large store and usually has ample supplies in all strengths. Has anyone else had trouble getting VanDorens, or is it just a mid-west problem?

I buy online, since it's usually cheaper, but 3.5's are the most commonly used, so they tend to be of short supply here and there. Try another brand. If it is a big music store, they might have Gonzalez FOF's. They're good reeds.

Although I have not heard of any supply problems, there may be a temporary shortage of Vandoren reeds as stores recover and restock from the recent Xmas holiday shopping. (remember - reeds make excellent gifts).
My last reed order (which included the popular sizes of Vandoren reeds) for myself and students from Fred Weiner arrived complete and within a few days...GBK
