There is a great clarinet duet by Gordon Lewin entitled, "Views of the Blues" that I believe was published by Boosey & Hawkes. Luyben Music said it is permanently out of print. I tried a number of music dealers but no one had a copy left. Does anyone know where I could obtain a copy? You could email me privately if you prefer.

I got a copy of it directly from Boosey & Hawkes about a year or so ago. It had to be ordered thru their custom print shop and took about 6 months to receive. But it was worth the wait...really fun to play!

Got a copy a couple of months ago from June Emerson Wind Music, Ampleforth, N Yorkshire, England. Google for website (online purchasing)
Printer's number for the Lewin is B & H 20766.
Hope that helps.

Thanks! I ordered it from June Emerson Music. I don't know for sure if they really had one in stock. Two other companies listed it in their catalogue but could not get it. I heard this on a CD entitled "Times for Flying" with Colin Lawson and Vitcoria Soames. The entire CD is clarinet duets.

OK Keith , glad to be of help. I have a track on a clarinet/sax sampler cd, of the second of these pieces. It's played straight (ie non-swing). My opinion for what it's worth, is that it comes alive if played in swing mode. (Apologies to Gordon Lewin !)
Rider....Great pieces, but page layout doesn't lead to easy page turns, so if performing, will need copying, or a very slick independent page turner !!

On my recording it is also played straight, which gives it somewhat of a latin feel. I don't know why a person couldn't swing the eighths.
Is anyone familiar with other Gordon Lewin pieces for clarinet?

Wow! It is Feb. 9, and I received it already from June Emerson Music. Now that I see the music, I don't know why anyone would not swing the eighths. The tempo marking says, "Fast, swing tempo."
Thank you Bob T!
