Loud is blasting your ears out. A warm tone is...well it's...I got it! It's the overall feeling(at least for me) or "color" of your tone. At least it's for me.

I just hope no one jumps me on the board...

whats the difference between playing loud and warm

If you don't get a good answer to this, it may be because there just isn't any! Everyone seems to have their own idea about what "warm" and "dark" tones are.
Whatever they are, they probably relate to an individual's embouchure and their choice of reed and mouthpiece.
If you don't sound as "warm" when you play loud, it may be due to loss of control.

Well, it's a lot easier to play loud and fuzzy than it is to play warm and fuzzy. Heh heh.

If I'm playing warm n' fuzzy, it's generally because I forgot to take the swab-stick out!!

ummm... as our high school teacher says "playing warm is useing the type of air you use to warm up you hands on a cold day, playing warm is the type of blowing you use to cool down a pizza!" -Mr. Mills (No one kill me for this!)
