I'm leaving for Indiana University Summer Music clinic in like 15 min. I'm excited, so I thought I'd write something. This is my second year, and the first year was great. If anybody lives near Indiana, this is a great place to go. They have music majors come from all over the country to teach instrument sectionals and music classes. They have a choral department too. I know it's no Interlochen, but it's not near as expensive ($330). See ya all next week!

I go to a different music camp (CSU) but it's probably similar materials, classes and such. Even the prices were close to the same. The highest band plays some pretty good stuff. I would have to look at the CD I bought for more information on the songs, but I know we played "National Emblem March", "A Jublant Overture" (Alfred Reed), "The Dragoons Farewell" (Grainger) and "Prelude, Sicilano, and Rondo". I hope this gives you some idea of what we play.

nick said about band camp "it's not interlochen"
doesn't matter...the important thing is to get out there, play with your peers, get instruction from experienced teachers and instructors, meet other people, learn and have fun!!! if it makes you a better musician, wiser person, and leaves good memories...its great!!!
best of luck, steve

I'm a big fan of Alfred Reed myself. I really really (really) love Armenian Dances.
