 Albert fingering chart?
Author: Ginny
Date:   1999-03-07 22:55

Well, in my closet is an Albert system clarinet, 13 keys and two rings. Thanks to some tips on Sneezy, I got the horn working (ah dental floss...)
The the f's are f#'s though, (thumb alone and all left down + index right)

Can anyone direct me to a fingering chart? Thanks yet again.

Ginny

The Rubank Beginning Method Book comes with a chart that still shows Albert system on one side and Boehm system on the other side. Just buzz down to your local music store and you can buy a copy. Check and make sure the chart is in it though because it is an insert and it could fall out.

Actually the correct title is Rubank Elementary Method.

The thumb only does indeed give F#. To get F, use (thumb + middle finger) OR (thumb + first finger + the middle key of the group of three on the right side of the upper joint).

There are several notes that are different. This F is one of them. The lowest B and Bb are also different.

Fortunately Rubank has apparently not changed the layout of their publication since the original copyright date of 1933.

I'm currently writing my own fingering chart for the 'german / Albert / Müller / Oehler' system, including trill (shake) fingerings but it's still not compleeted.
I'll put a meassage on this board when I'm ready.

Additional information: the 4 fingers of the left hand + index and ring finger of right hand is Bb (F).

For B flat/ F on an Albert try fingering A/E just like a boehm and then use R hand ring finger to press the little key next to the tone hole.
