Well I want to thanks someone, but I don't know who!
Several weeks ago I was reading a thread here that was discussing the register vent(s) of Altos and someone said something about the lower vent tube needing to be at least .518" long. (Or....I miss-remember But the length stuck in my head) I have a Kohlert alto that has been plagued with a weak and unstable Bb so I made a new lower vent tube of that length. And amazing!! The thing not only plays in tune, the tone is comparable to the A which very good. It is like a new instrument. So I would like to thank all those that were in that discussion and particularly the person who provided that one piece of info. This is what is so great about this BB
thanks again.
J B
