Three Etudes on Themes of Gershwin
Author: Mags1957

Dumb (perhaps) question about this piece:

The second movement (Summertime) is marked at quarter = 60, even though it in 6/8. Should this be dotted quarter = 60? It seems to flow much better at that speed. I've never heard the piece performed, so I have no frame of reference.

Thanks,

Marty

Having played the piece i tend to think in quavers and dotted crotchets. Overall though i think it should be dotted crotchet = 60. I've just found my music, it's a missprint.
