Out of curiousity, before I purchase, how would you rate the technicality of this piece? Up there with Theme and Variations by Rossini? Thank you.

I would rate this as a little more difficult than the Rossini Theme and Variations. I think it's a slightly more interesting piece though.

The Cantilene is a nice musical work worth owning. Not sure why Christopher thinks it's harder than Rossini. To each his own I guess. Rossini isn't easy to sound like you are playing with ease. The two pieces are toattly different in all regards. Enjoy!

Yes...Cahouzac's recording of his piece is great. Also get Ricardo's version - very elegant. The difficulty with the Rossini is endurance. The runs may be easy, but you are running all over the place for 12 minutes! That's why it's harder.
