Just searching for clarinet recordings, I came across an piece listed simply as "eddie daniels clarinet". I can only say for sure the "clarinet" part is accurate. I'm fascinated with the piece though, as it does indeed mix classical with touches of jazz. I'd just really like to know what it is.
I'll try to describe it as best I can:
Solo clarinet with strings. Tempo is close to 138 bmp
It starts with strings playing a pizzicato ostinato in 8th notes for two measures, then the clarinet adds on, playing (!6th notes, given in concert pitch, ascending from throat tones):
f# g c e f#, and that last f# is a dotted 8th. etc.
It continues at a steady tempo, sections switching back and forth between straight and swung.
It ends with the clarinet ascending to a cadence (fi-so) f#-g (concert pitch) in the altissimo. The whole thing is about 3 minutes long.
I've exhausted the amazon samples of any audio recordings they have of eddie daniels cds, and I'm not sure where else to look.

It very well could be "Divertimento" from the album "Breakthrough"
"Breakthrough" (1986, GRP records #GRP-D-9533) is VERY difficult to find. It might now be out of print ...GBK
