Just a for what it's worth - I was on Tom Ridenour's web site today and noticed that he now has a "Lyrique" Bass clarinet for sale (previously unavailable directly from him), and there is a "Holiday Sale" on most of his clarinets through December. The prices are pretty ridiculous. I cannot vouch for the quality of the clarinets myself, having never played one, but I may buy an "A" - it's $995 with a double case, and some people rave about them (do a search and see what's being said).
If you buy a clarinet from Ridenour directly, they seem to be a few bucks more than the left over Arioso/Allora stock at some of the internet outlet stores, but they are set-up by Tom Ridenour himself - not a bad touch.
Let's not turn this into a discussion on the merits/drawbacks of the Ridenour clarinets - I think enough's been said about that - I just thought the addition of the bass clarinet and sale prices on his website were worth a mention.

The following is an article which tells of my somparison between my Ridenour Instrument and My Selmer Paris 10s . I post it in order to give readers to the opportunity to hear the opinion of a Ridenour player who has played Grenadilla for many years.

[ Rather than post an entire article again, please just post a link to the article. I have changed the text to a link. Mark C. ]
