Actually I am renting this baby for 25 pm. Justed started to play it yesterday. Gee , that higher register is hard to play............using Vandoren reed 2 and Rico 2.......
.....the lower notes sound good because of the resonance in the wood bore..........!!

I don't know what mouthpiece you are using, but in general, don't expect to go too high with a #2 reed. Most of us that post on the board wouldn't want to be heard playing a #2 either. Stepping up in reed strength will help with the higher notes, but you'll probably have to work harder for the rest of the range. Ah . . . the price of progress!!

Guess I'm the lone fish swimming upstream. I can get a Vandoren 2.5 V-12 reed to play altissimo all the way up to G without too much fuss. Of course, the mouthpiece, the air support, the embouchure support, and lots of other factors have more impact than just the reed.
