Mendelssohn Octet transcibed for clarinets

Author: BornAgainClarinetist  Date:   2006-10-31 19:57 I absolutely love Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings in Eb Major. If you look at the score and you see complex and stunning it is you can't help but be amazed. So being that I have too much time on my hands. I got a hold of the parts and decided to make a except. However due to the fact that I do not own a bass clarinet I couldn't lay the Cello parts down and for the first violin part (which an Eb clarinet would be perfect for range wise) I played flute which I'm decently profient at. For the remaining parts I used Bb Clarinets and Acoustica Sound mixer to lay the parts down. I'm not posting this to show off my little product of fun, but It would be AWESOME to see this octet performed at Clarinet Fest or somewhere else. The Key is perfect, the range of instruments is near perfect (violas go down a full step lower than the Bb Clarinet). I uploaded my excerpt to yousendit.com. I believe that since this isn't copy righted material that I am not breaking any laws. Let me know what you think as to the viability of this being performed with Clarinets.
