I think we're set for now, we have a used 17S coming (our 2nd), and while higher priced, we also have a used Buffet B12 Crampon coming. So hopefully we will find if there is a tonal or tuning or playability between the Artley and Buffet. I think we're good for now, I'm presuming the parts aren't interchangeable? We will probably just get mouthpieces at musiciansfriend.com or other internet place. My daughter couldn't really tell a difference between the stock Artley mouthpiece, and a Yamaha 4C plastic, but there might be 4 of us playing 3 clarinets, so we'll have to get possibly another mouthpiece, probably one that fits the artley if they are not interchangeable with the buffet.

I think the Artley has the better tone quality out of the two, but the B12 definitely has the better quality keywork.
The Artley's keywork looks like it's been thrown together rather than carefully assembled (but it's still functional and reliable nonetheless) - though the B12 does use a lot of castings (some single-piece castings) for their keys.
