Just curious who you folks have had the most success with for mouthpiece refinishing work? Thanks.

I'd second Mark's suggestion...the real thing in the tradition of Everett Matson.

just curious. what are the price ranges of mouthpiece refinishings? Not the range of making a mouthpiece fit to a specific design, but rather bring a mouthpiece back to decent playable standards? If that made any sense.
Our inventions are wont to be pretty toys, which distract our attention from serious things. they are but improved means to an unimproved end, an end which was already but too easy to arrive as railroads lead to Boston to New York

David Spiegelthal refaced a mouthpiece for me. I recommend him, but in my case I think I wasn't clear enough of what I wanted exactly so he refaced it the way he liked it. If you choose him, speak with him first about what you want/need. He does good work.
The reason I had this mouthpiece refaced, and this is the answer to C2thew, is that it is a Pomarico model 0 (something that doesn't really exist?!) which a friend got me from Italy. It was too closed (and maybe had some other problems too) which made it impossible to play no matter what reeds I used. David Spiegelthal made it into an excellent mouthpiece when using 4 or 4.5 reeds. It cost me $25 US (excluding shipping). I don't know if this is still the price or not.
