I have 2 of these mouthpieces:

They're great, but I'm wondering exactly who "John Pierce" is.
As far as I know, they're only available through WWBW/Music123, and I'm curious to see if anybody has information on them.
Also, what would be a Vandoren or other mainstream brand mouthpiece with similar measurements to it? The measurements below are what I got at another message board:
Window length: 32mm
Window width at tip: 12mm
Width of lay at tip: 15mm
Length from tip to shoulder: 73mm
1.397 millimeter tip opening
I'm asking, because if it breaks and is unavailable, I'd like to know if there is a widely-available mouthpiece with similar characteristics.
Lastly, I'm using strength 4-4.5 Lurie reeds with it. Is it wrong to use hard reeds with a "jazz mouthpiece?"
