Well I was in Sydney for just under a week to see the VPO. I went to Billy Hyde wind and brass and came accross the biggest selection of clarinets, and other musical accessories I have ever encountered. Rob Murphy is a champ, I shall be probably buying through them instead of our incomparable SA stores.
What do you people have to say when comparing the Buffet Festival to a RC? I got to try a very nice festval but not a RC, however I have heard good things about them. The greenlines don't really compare when I tried one in Sydney.

Were you at the masterclass with Peter Schmidtl? I tried the instruments on display that day and there was one nice festival and one nice rc prestige out of them all. I preferred the rc prestige but the festivals are probably the most commonly played Buffet model in Australia at the moment. The majority of players from the Sydney Symphony, Queensland Orchestra and some in the Melbourne Symphony are all playing Festivals at the moment. Many people comment that they can get more projection and colours from the Festivals and they find the RC's a little too covered sounding and perhaps inflexible. I agree with all of this to an extent...but it depends on the inidividual. I for instance have never played on a festival that I have liked or sounded good on.

Yes I was at the masterclass. All the players were excellent - you were up first right? Peter did a god job with you all, and he seemed like a real nice person when we asked him questions and stuff.
Do you know if anyone bought any of the instruemnts at the con after the class that day? Because the festivals I tried at the shop were really good, maybe we tried the same ones? A and Bb?
I got a real sense of perfecting the music from the masterclass.
