 A song
Author: questonaire

Hi again... This time, I am looking for a song. I have found the sheet music, but I am looking for a particular piece and don't know who wrote it or the real name. The first two lines are:

Sleep my child and peace attend thee
All through the night

If any one knows where I can find it, please let me know.

I believe it is "All Though the Night" but I don't have a copy of it.

You are correct, Bob,. I'll look in my old song books when I return home and post what I find. Some libraries have books of "favorite songs", like the "Golden Book of F S". Try them. Don

Darn! I knew I should have saved that! I got a copy of that song for voice class at CSU camp last year. I pitched it before I even started packing. A little voice told me to keep it and now I know why. Yes, as a 3rd conformation, it is "All through the night". And now it's running all through my head.

Got home, looked and found, eureka [as the old Greeks said!]. Its a very simple tune, in the key of G! , 4 bars {A}, 4 bars {A}, 4 bars {B}[bridge], 4 bars {A}. A lullaby with 3 lines of tender words [in English by Maynard] , a Welsh Air arr. by Fearis. Do you need more? Don

The previous was in "One Hundred and One Best Songs". In my "Golden Book of Favorite Songs" its in the key of Ab, has 2 lines of verse [softly] and is attributed to Boulton.
