This was inspired by the recent post on C clarinets. I realize that one can use a Bb mouthpiece, but that some makers also create a specific C mpc. My question then is, what kind of reeds does one use on a C mpc? I would assume Bb, but didn't know forsure. Also, for those that have used a C mpc, is it a drastically different feel in size (I realize thats a subjective question, but am curious anyways). Thanks.

The C clarinet will play perfectly fine with a Bb mouthpiece, but there are players who feel that a dedicated C mouthpiece is a better choice.
There are a few mouthpiece makers who produce a true C clarinet mouthpiece. The C mouthpiece table is about 2mm(?) shorter and the interior volume dimensions are different.
You can use your current reeds on a C clarinet mouthpiece...GBK

Glenn, do you own one? I'd be mildly surprised if you didn't and if so, do you play it much?
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

Diz...Yes, I have a very nice 1986 (282xxx) silver plated R13 C clarinet.
As you know, MANY orchestra and opera works call for C clarinet. (try doing Mozartiana without one and you'll soon see why it is needed)
I even own and use a C clarinet mouthpiece ...GBK

tictactux,
the million dollars may have already been made by the c-clarinet mpc makers.
