Hi,

I was wondering if anyone new where I could find out information about roberts springs warmup routine. There used to be a link to it in the research section of the clarinet pages but it does not seem to work. If anyone has any information about it let me know.

Thanks

Chris Raddatz

You might try emailing him directly. I once needed some info and he sent it right out to me.

Robert Spring's article is still in the Study files. Here's a link:

That's actually where the dead link appears; Stan Geidel let the OCR lapse a couple of years ago. I'll see if I can recover the info.

The article is available on the Wayback Machine at http://web.archive.org/web/20000301123640/www.ocr.sneezy.org/articles/spring1.html.

Bob Spring gave a lecture on his routine at a ClarinetFest several years back. He said that it took him about an hour to go through it, and he did it every day.

Mark -- I picked one of the Wayback images at random, and it's from the Sneezy days. The most recent image seems to be at http://web.archive.org/web/20041012235645/www.ocr.woodwind.org/articles/index.html. You can probably rescue most of the material from there.

The text was no problem ... hunting for the associated images.

"Bob Spring gave a lecture on his routine at a ClarinetFest several years back. He said that it took him about an hour to go through it, and he did it every day."

and it hasn't changed since then, because just a few months ago I was in his masterclass where he said the exact same thing. So he still does it every day for years!

Try ClarinetStudio.com

You'll get Rose Sperrazza's clarinet studio, then click on artists, then click Dr. Robert Spring.

There's about 10 artists listed all of them giving tips of one kind or another.

I just accessed it this morning, so it should still be there. The triple tongueing Dr.'s advice is just right!
