 clarinet video clips

If you have'nt already seen them and are interested...there's some new clarinet video
clips on Youtube.com

A clarinet choir from the Atlanta fest performs
and a 16 year old plays Messager's Solo de
Concours and the Kegelstatt trio.

He does'nt exactly put Julian in the shade but
it's interesting to hear a teenager do some demanding stuff fairly well.

Some of the older clips are curious too...but
Mr. Clarinet clip is a little too curious.

Here is who I think is the best bass clarinetist today. The sound quality sucks, and the clips are short but worth it. Actually on his CDs (I have about 20 of them) he sounds about a thousand times better than those clips.

Sclavis is indeed an interesting player. Somehow I never got to buy one of his Cd because I was always afraid the music would be too weird. Can you suggest a couple of CD to buy?

Thanks

So was/is Israel Zohar doing klezmer.

What I'd like to hear is a clip of his rendition playing Tristan, Gotterdammerung, Aida, Don Quixote, and Schuman 3rd.

Haha! If weird music would stop me from buying CDs, then I wouldn't have the 30 CDs I listen to the most. But now I'm at a point where almost no music sounds weird to me.
I can recommend many CDs (I have almost all of them) but he have a lot of different ones. If you don't like weird then it makes it hard to recommend because I don't think any of his CDs are weird, so I recommend all of them. I will do a list with short descriptions if you want, or you can email me and ask more specifically.

I only heard him playing with the philharmonic, not his klezmer music, and he was great. Very good player.

Who are you talking about here, Israel Zohar or Louis Sclavis?
