Barrel Questions

The barrel length of my Selmer CT seems long, yet a recent Selmer C* mouthpiece I purchased causes the instrument to play sharp. I’ve been considering a new barrel. However, it occurred to me I don’t really know how to measure a barrel. Does the length of a barrel include the rings, or idoes the barrel length exclude the tenons, measureing the bore with the upper joint and mouthpiece inserted? (Hope I made that clear.) There is a big difference between the two measurements.

Also, since I have a vintage horn with a large bore, how will a contemporary barrel work with this instrument?

Thanks for your responses, I tried to find the info through search, but was unsuccessful.
