I've recently recieved a gift from a dear clarinet friend. A recorded CD of a Clarinet Choir entitled,"Homage to Leon LeBlanc". This performance was created either before or after Leon LeBlanc passed away. So I have a CD with about 12 tracks, BUT my friend and I only recognized 3 tracks; Marriage of Figaro, Russlan and Ludmilla Overture, and Gymnopedie. Can anyone help me with ANY information??!!!

As an addition to paying "Homage" to Leon Leblanc, who with Vito's "follow-up, made Leb into a fine woodwind/brass manufacturer, I'll find my file of Leb US patents and post [before long] most of his #'s where one can find some of his philosophy and creativity preserved. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

guzmanshaun - go to http://www.melodyhound.com, which can identify well-known tunes based on melodic information you key in.
....
I am amused by your claim that "This performance was created either before or after Leon LeBlanc passed away." Those two options would seem to cover all the bases, no?

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.
To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

Is this CD generally available, or available from Leblanc. I'm sure many of us on the board would love having it.

I apologize for not knowing all the correct information for this topic, but I came here to find real and concrete answers from mature and professional clarinetist. I'm also working on putting a link for each track on this CD on my website. Please be patient and thank you!!!

I'll try to get the CD discussed above, TKS . I located a number of Leblanc's US patents, those of early date are Leon's, followed by Vito, about in the 70's. My earliest [jump keys etc] is US 1,926,489, followed [in #/date order] by 2.627,776, 2,832,250, 3,079,828 **, 3,136,199, 3,191,482, 3,237,504 . I have read [studied?] these, in partic. the **828, which I believe was L's answer to licensing negotiatons with Stubbins [of earlier date] on the improvement, re: OUR problem, with the "pinch"/mid-staff Bb. I'm sure there are more [and later] of note, may add them if anyone is still interested, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
