 The complete clarinet family

At least according to Leblanc ... this takes time to load as the image files are high resolution ... if you're on dial-up I wouldn't bother accessing this link. Otherwise with ADSL it's fairly painless ... and well worth it for the beautiful Leblanc picture of their complete range (including an octocontrabass leviathan).

Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

This is from the web site of Norwegian clarinettist Terje B. Lerstad. Main page is at http://kunst.no/lerstad/index.html

For those interested in unusual clarinets, browse the rest of his site. Basset clarinets in B flat in C: http://kunst.no/lerstad/bassett.html

For a collection of 'strange' instruments: http://kunst.no/lerstad/bratsj.html

Very big clarinets: http://kunst.no/lerstad/octos.html

Terje B. Lerstad's CD 'Lyrical Punk Clarinet' was reviewed in The Clarinet Feb/Mar 1990 and this review is available at http://kunst.no/lerstad/critic.html

See also http://hem.passagen.se/eriahl/clarinet.htm for additional info on and also many pictures of (most of) The Clarinet Family.

Look at the ring keys in the Leblanc picture - it looks stretched, yet the Leblanc logo is intact!

I've seen a G piccolo clarinet, in the Museum of Music in Prague.

Granted, the exhibit is dedicated largely to experimental instruments.
