This being Spring, I again am on a mouthpiece hunt. The mouthpieces that I've heard the most about in the last year have been, Pyne, Fobes, Morgan, Borbeck, and Smith. Any have any good comparisons on this makers? Price, quality, accessibility, tone, articulation, etc.? Any info would be helpful.
Thanks
~Frank~

They're all good mouthpieces. I play a Morgan. I have a friend who plays a Pyne. It's terrific as well. The Hawkins mouthpieces sound great, so do the Bays and Gigliottis. You've got a good list there. I know that some of the mail order places will send you several to try out and you can just keep the one you like.

Blank matters. I have a Greg Smith Kasper Style mp.
He uses Zinner blanks of Bavaria. I once had a Kasper-Cicero,nearly the same except Smith's tone is a little darker to my ears. I also have a Morgan. I prefer my Smith mp for its tone and smooth tone emission.
But I think you need your own judgement. No objective comparisons will exist.

To further confuse you, don't forget to try Roger Garrett's mouthpieces (I have one of his bass clarinet mouthpieces and I really like it).
