I practically find all of my classical music news on NY Times, but a while ago I found myself venturing into the world of blogs upon reading an article on BBC Music magazine, an article that had a list of suggested blogs. Now, I've long misplaced that list, so is anyone here at all familiar with the internet blog scene of classical music?
Being an avid baseball fan, I know how great a resource good blogs are. I find myself relying on them much more often than I do on official information (e.g. ESPN, SI, MLB.com, etc) b/c they are written by more frank, sincere, fans rather than money-making public relations wizards.

Kyle Gann's PostClassic covers some contemporary stuff:

I don't really read it (sometimes he goes pretty deep into theory, and I'm not much of a blog reader to begin with), but I had the link handy. From the looks of things, artsjournal might have a decent variety.

I don't know if this is exactly what you had in mind, but I do find it always of interest. Sam Bergman's blog of the Minnesota Orchestra's European tour was IMO terrific!

One of the best I've seen is by Alex Ross, a writer for the New Yorker magazine. His blog has a TON of information about contemporary music and lots of other things going on in the NY music scene... definitely worth a look. Here's the link:
