She had a wonderful mezzo soprano voice, and this is definately a big loss to the North American music scene. I had been set to see one of her concerts with the NYPO a month or two ago in her husband's "World in Flower", but she pulled out due to illness, not to mention the piece hadn't been finished either. Little did anybody really know how sick she truthfully was.

Sorry to hear this news. Saw her at the Met a number of times. A very moving singing actress.

At last nights NYPO concert, after intermission and before continuing with the second half, the orchestra performed Barber's Adagio for Strings in memory of Ms. Lieberson. It was very moving.
