Hey! I have an audition for an All State band and I need to know what concert scale would-
D-flat major
G- flat major
F-sharp major
C-flat major
C-sharp major
- be for clarinet. I saw another girl had asked the same question easier scales. I have memorize all 12 major scales with chromatic @_@. I hope someone can help!

for any scale, pitch, etc. when talking about CONCERT pitch, you raise it one whole step to find the pitch that you would play on the Bb clarinet. For example, when you play the Bb tuning note or scale in your band- you play C.

D-flat major becomes Eb Major,
G- flat major becomes Ab Major,
F-sharp major becomes Ab Major as well,
C-flat major becomes Db Major
C-sharp major becomes Eb Major.
Does the word 'Major' look funny to you? I know it's spelt right but it looks funny. Probably as I either leave it out or just put the symbol 'M' in instead.
Either that or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Within the setting where I had been asked to play concert pitch scales I had also been asked to play either the relative minor or the parallel minor (relative minor of C is A minor, parallel minor to C is C minor three flats). So, and I hope I am not adding unnecessary confusion, be ready to think up a sixth or down a third to get your relative minor scales if you don't know that by heart.

Ehh I think you got it alittle mixed up Chris P. I wanted to know what the concert pithes were like concert B-flat is C Major. I gave the majors and I wanted to know the concerts for that major.

Yeah, I am feeling a bit tired come to think of it - I'll have another go.
Bb pitch scales tansposed back down to Concert pitch scales:
D-flat major becomes B Major,
G- flat major becomes E Major,
F-sharp major becomes E Major as well,
C-flat major becomes A Major,
C-sharp major becomes B Major.
My brain hurts! I'm going to have a lie down.
I can transpose up easy enough, but I'm not so good at transposing down.

if you have finale notepad ( www.codamusic.com ) - free software - and want all of the scales written out ; email me offline. you will need notepad or one of the higher level programs (print music, finale) to read the files. I have all 60 of them in finale format.

Lol thanks for trying thought Chris P. I appreciate everyones help greatly. I tried doing it on my keyboard like playing like a C Major and finding the same tone on my keyboard which would be B-flat on the keyboard. Im going to keep working at it see if everything goes as I want it.
